Special T Thoroughbreds

Stallion Management

Special T Thoroughbreds is one of the most respected stallion stations on the entire West Coast.

Mud Route ($2,500 LF) Council Member ($4,000 LF)
Freespool ($4,000 LF) Awesome Spirit ($2,500 LF)
Lasersport ($2,500 LF) Taskmaster ($1,000 LF)

Quality in pedigrees with a solid stakes winning race record is important to Special T as they have sought to improve their stallion roster. The roster has grown impressively each year, beginning in 2000 with Mud Route (by Strawberry Road), a multiple graded winner of $672,040.  Owned by a Syndicate and standing for $2,500.

The  latest edition to Special T is Council Member. This is the last stakes-winner by Seattle Slew to go to stud.  He is Graded Stakes-placed in England and the U.S.  He sold as a weanling for $800,000 to Darley.  He has won on dirt and grass and may be a perfect fit for the California synthetics.  He is standing for $4,000 for owners, Karen and Mickey Taylor.

Standing for Herrick racing is Lasersport (Guilded Time) for $2,500.

Desperado Stables has two stallions at Special T, Freespool by Geiger Canter for $4,000 and Awesome Spirit, a son of Awesome Again for $2,500.

The last stallion at stud is Taskmaster by A.P. Indy who stands for $1,000.
