Breed to MUD ROUTE (2009 Stud Fee: $2,500) for a $100 tax-deductible contribution to CARMA.

The buyers and sellers of all broodmares passing through the sales ring (sold or unsold) will eligible to secure a 2009 breeding season to MUD ROUTE, California’s 2008 Leading Sire of 2yo by Average Earnings Per Runner by simply making a $100 donation to CARMA (California Retirement Management Account) which was formed to help Thoroughbred rehabilitation and retirement facilities that care for and retrain horses whose careers have ended after competing in the state.

El Sinaloense (Mud Route) Champion British Columbia Juvenile

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Krazy Koffee was named British Columbia horse of the year at the annual industry awards dinner held Saturday evening.

Krazy Koffee dominated the 3-year-old division at Hastings in 2008. Trained by Cindy Krasner, Krazy Koffee won four straight stakes, including the Grade 3 B.C. Derby.

Krazy Koffee, who was bred by his owner, Butch Goertzen, also earned awards as the B.C.-bred horse of the year, B.C.-bred 3-year-old and open division.

Spaghetti Mouse, who is trained by Lenore Daponte, was named the top older horse in the province in both the B.C.-bred and open divisions. His owners, Nick and Pauline Felicella, also were inducted into the B.C. Horse Racing Hall of Fame.

Bryant McAfee was inducted into the hall of fame as a builder.

Other award winners were Against the Sky, older filly or mare, both divisions; Blue Sky Holiday, 3-year-old filly; Remarkable Miss, B.C.-bred 3-year-old filly; El Sinaloense, 2-year-old, open and B.C.-bred; What R the Odds, 2-year-old filly; P S Good N Ready, B.C.-bred 2-year-old filly; and B R Remark, champion sprinter.

Cindy Krasner received the Diamond Award of Excellence. Trainer Dave Milburn received the Backstretch Award.

El Sinaloense (Mud Route) Wins Another Stake

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Sept. 7, 2008) -- Overwhelming favorite El Sinaloense, a British Columbian-bred son of California stallion Mud Route, won Sunday’s $61,003 CTHS Sales Stakes for 2-year-olds at Hastings Racecourse. 

He ran the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:17.30 and won by 3 ¾ lengths at odds of 1-10.
